The Power of Partnerships: How collaboration is shaping the future of streaming at IBC2025

Category:

TV has always thrived on partnerships. From prime-time entertainment hosts Ant and Dec to Mulder and Scully in The X-Files, collaborations on screen create moments greater than the sum of their parts. That same spirit also drives innovation behind the scenes. At IBC2025, Synamedia is showcasing how our partnerships with leading tech innovators are helping shape the future of streaming with personalised content discovery, seamless delivery, smarter advertising and engaging viewer experiences.

Please use the link at the bottom to book to see us at IBC. See you in Hall 1, B49!

Fluid Edge CDN: switch, scale, stream

Following the launch of Quortex Switch, the industry’s first standards-based CDN switching solution earlier this year, we are seeing strong momentum in the CDN space. Our booth will spotlight how partnerships are unlocking new levels of performance and resilience for customers:

AWS – Elastic Caching: By combining AWS’ cloud infrastructure flexibility with our latest Fluid EdgeCDN feature, operators can instantly add cache capacity whenever and wherever it’s needed to keep streams smooth and prevent congestion.

Mux – Seamless CDN Steering: This technology provides the real-time QoE insights underpinning Quortex Switch, informing balancing decisions for uninterrupted streaming and rapid disaster recovery.

Content discovery: up close and personal

Streaming today is about balancing cost efficiency with personalised experiences. Together with innovations from our Synamedia GO partners, we will showcase how AI-powered enhancements can drive both operational efficiencies and deeper user engagement, helping providers to boost retention while elevating the viewing experience:

Spicy Mango: Highlighting integration with Gameday for enriched sports metadata delivering fan-first experiences.

FX Digital: Showcasing new approaches to UX design to create immersive Connected TV apps across Smart TVs, games consoles and set-top boxes.

Enveu: Demonstrating innovative front-end app development, including an example of how to capture younger audiences by inspiring them to value the big-screen experience through short form video.

Dotscreen: Creating, designing and developing custom video applications for all connected devices.

Smarter ads: new models for monetisation

Ad ‘fatigue’ is one of the hottest topics in streaming. Together with our partners, we’re rethinking how advertising can drive both engagement and revenue:

EaseLive: Enabling client-side interactive overlays on top of the video, across all screens & all devices with stats, polls, and quizzes that sync with live content, creating millions of dollars of new ad opportunities for sports.

Innovation Zone: what’s next?

In the Innovation Zone our latest collaborations point to the next wave of innovation in real-time event detection and open standards:

Six Floor Solutions/MoQtail/Akamai: Using the emerging Media over QUIC (MoQ) protocol from IETF, this collaboration showcases how AI can detect, classify and clip live sports events in real time – from a foul to a three-point basket. The demo enriches video streams with this metadata on the fly, even at ultra-low latency.

D2C and B2B: easy as 123

With the market swiftly switching to IP distribution, our D2C and B2B demos at IBC show how content owners and operators can reach fans more directly and more flexibly than ever before:

Yuzzit: This demo features live-to-VOD highlight clipping for social networks combined with AI localisation using Quortex Play.

AWS IP Distribution: Spotlighting the shift from satellite to IP-based distribution, Quortex PowerVu shows how broadcasters can distribute live linear channels at scale over IP and CDNs with broadcast-grade reliability, reducing operational complexity while offering a flexible, scalable approach to live media distribution. Showing at AWS’ booth in Hall 5, C90.

InSync From 23fps to 120fps, InSync’s frame rate conversion ensures video is always delivered in the right standard and optimised for any screen, HD or UHD. Integrated with Quortex Link, this demo shows how sports content distribution can be distributed globally in the optimal format while simplifying operations, cutting costs, and enabling click-and-go deployment.

AI Media: With AI-powered captioning integrated via LEXI into Quortex Link, this partnership enables live subtitles in multiple languages, improving accessibility and regionalisation. Broadcasters and sports content owners benefit from low latency and reduced operational overhead, with the future potential to extend these capabilities into real-time voice translation through LEXI Voice.

Partnerships driving the future of streaming

Whether on-screen or behind the scenes, the best partnerships endure because they adapt, surprise and create something new.
