Synamedia Gravity takes more weight off broadband providers’ shoulders

London 15 September 2023 – Leading video software provider Synamedia has announced new enhancements to its Gravity SaaS CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) device orchestration platform which will be on display at IBC 2023. Gravity simplifies remote management for both broadband and video CPE. The vendor-agnostic platform caters to the needs of broadband service providers serving small and medium businesses (SMBs) and residential users. Gravity makes it easier to efficiently control CPE devices and managed services such as Wi-Fi.

Along with making it easy to control, configure, and update in-field devices and services, Gravity’s latest advancements bring substantial broadband connectivity improvements for SMB customers. Broadband providers can now deliver enterprise-grade managed Wi-Fi, hotspot management, email and domain services, SD-WAN solutions, robust firewalls, remote access capabilities, and zero-touch provisioning of SMB employee devices.

Gravity’s new Plug and Play Mesh simplifies Wi-Fi management for both office and home. It extends Wi-Fi signals, streamlines network setup, features Smart Wi-Fi capabilities, and simplifies guest network configuration. Furthermore, broadband providers have the option of using Synamedia’s Professional Services team to optimise device lifecycles, guaranteeing peak network and device performance for their customers.

“Delivering excellent customer experiences is non-negotiable for small business and consumer broadband subscriber retention,” said Nick Thexton, EVP, Media Cloud Services, Synamedia. “We developed Synamedia Gravity with the goal of empowering broadband service providers to differentiate their brand, drive revenues, and grow market share all while enjoying the economic benefits of SaaS. We continue to evaluate market needs and build new capabilities to ensure end users always get the most of their broadband connection.”

Gravity’s device, vendor, and platform-agnostic approach allows service providers to choose any device, platform, or cost targets, without fear of lock-in.  This versatility also enables them to expand their service footprint with new device types as technology and business needs evolves, such as a new target market or overcoming supply chain challenges with a vendor.

Gravity offers a comprehensive suite of tools for efficient and easy network management for operators and subscribers:

  • For operators, the configuration consoles in the portal provide streamlined troubleshooting capabilities. Support teams have easy access to network architecture and device details, including security and firewall features for remote diagnostics to ensure seamless business operations.
  • Subscribers have access to a portal and companion mobile app for self-service, including common network administration tasks and troubleshooting.
